Face-to-Face, Phone & Computer-Based Tuition

Face-to-face tuition can be arranged by appointment at my home address, situated between Attleborough and Watton, Norfolk. I would welcome approaches from students outside my geographic area (students studying at UK universities and living in the UK or EU). I have wide-ranging experience and abilities in using ICTs in teaching and supporting students, and communicating in a distance learning environment. In terms of ICT skills, from 2001 to 2009 I was a researcher in an ICT-focused department at the University of Essex - Chimera: Institute of Social and Technical Research. We used a number of different methods and ICT platforms to supplement face-to-face contact with our PhD students. In particular I have found both Skype and Instant Messenger good for quick document exchange, and I tend to deliver comments on work via tracked changes in Microsoft Word. Simple telephony is also very useful in conjunction with computer-based document exchange.
